The Michelin is lot more silent than G015. However, I won't compare these two actually as the G015 is an A/T tyre, though I think it is biased towards highway use as it has four grooves to drain water. There's not much difference in highway grip when compared to PrimacySUV but the noise is substantial. Overall, Primacy is better as my XUV has mediocre brakes while the Duster is a well-planted vehicle. PrimacySUV is not an A/T tyre. It is an excellent highway runner. As said by many, you should include and compare the LTX and not PrimacySUV with G015, IMHO. Else you should include GeoLandar G055 also. Is BFG available, I thought both BFG and Falken / Hankook are not available due to the recent govt policies ? I voted for the G015 since you are apparently looking for an A/T tyre. I have recently bought a Hyundai Tucson CRDi the SUV is excellent but the tyres which Hyundai gave as OE fitment is cheap Korean made Nexen tyres the problems of which are already very well highlighted in a well compiled and documented manner somewhere else in the forum which is why I'm considering to replace these tyres to something better. As for your question I shall suggest you to go for the Bridgestone Duelers. They might not be as silent as say Michelins and neither do they have phenomenal wet grip but they are extremely durable for SUVs and at the same time are relatively silent and have reasonable grip levels. The Michelins even though excellent use soft compound which might cause it to develop cracks when put through some abuse, I was reading the thread of a fellow BHPian where he mentioned about the tyre cut in his Volkswagen Jetta also many such threads are beautifully archived in the forum. Lastly Bridgestone Duelers are among the better tyres. My friend who has a Hyundai Creta got these as OEM and is very satisfied with the same. Used them on my Fortuner and was very happy. May I suggest an additional Wildcard entry? Apollo Tyres. From my experience not technically speaking I have found the compound of Apollo tires to be quite firm and therefore they are able to take a beating day in and out. I have had quite a few punctures over the years and yet the tyres haven't complained in any way. They are also cheaper than some of the more expensive brands. Additionally, my daily commute of around 50-60 Kms in Mumbai has also been quite pleasant with these tyres. Out of all the other tyres that I have owned these ones have been the least prone to bruising, cuts etc. Being a government officer, I also have to travel to many construction sites where road conditions are possibly worst than off-road and the Apollos have been my choice. Would suggest you to give them some consideration too 4 Thanks 13th December 2021, 0130 15 BHPian Join Date Oct 2019 Location Bangalore,DEL Posts 86 Thanked 341 Times re SUV tyres for Indian Roads - Poll No experience with BFG. gifty74 So just got a new set of Bridgestone Duelers at Costco as they were $130 off (the current monthly special). I had Michelin's on the Pilot prior, and this last pair (not sure of model #) lasted close to 80k miles. Both Premier and Primacy are the top tires of Michelin. But since they are pretty good, what will you choose? Choosing tires set is essential for your vehicle. They are one of the most vital parts that need to be changed eventually. By selecting the right set, you can get a better driving experience, according to the characters and the speciality of these tires. What we have here are Michelin Premier and Michelin Primacy, two of the best Michelin tires that mostly known for the value for money. What can we say? They got the durability, comfort, performance, acceleration altogether within the excellent affordable package. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the Michelin Premier and Primacy, along with their in-depth reviews, which may help you to consider buying the best fit for your vehicle. Contents1 Michelin Premier2 Michelin Primacy3 Michelin Premier vs Primacy 4 Conclusion The first one on the list is Michelin Premier. Known as one of the best tire brands in the world, Michelin keeps producing the best tires in the market, and Premier is its best selling one. If you talk about durability, this is the King. Tread life is better when compared to the competitors, even the premium ones. So, this tire set can give you better longevity plus a smoother riding experience. Since the price is pretty much affordable, you can also save some money by buying Michelin Premier. And because the tires are pretty durable, you don’t need to change these anytime soon. You can use them for a longer time. This way will effectively cut your tire expense. Read also Toyo Open Country MT vs Nitto Ridge Grappler. With all these benefits, no wonder many car owners would always recommend this tire. Its premium quality is unquestionable, and once you install Michelin Premier, you won’t take a glance at other tires ever again. The premiums also paid with the affordable price seems too good to be accurate, but it is. Michelin Premier is one of those tires that has durability on its hand. With an exceptional tread life, you can always depend on the Premier for longer rides. Longevity isn’t the only thing you can get, but also the performance and the service in general. These tires can deliver the best user experience you could ever hope for. Providing a smoother ride, Michelin Premier can make the whole riding experience better with less noise produced and protecting against bumps. The ability to absorb shocks and shakes are pretty good too. Acceleration is an essential aspect of a cor. Better acceleration can be translated into better speed to some extend. Supporting the engine, Michelin Premier can deliver better acceleration by removing the excessive load from the engine. This way, the machine can be maintained longer and could last for some more. Another fantastic thing about these tires is that they’re pretty versatile for other environments besides city road. Though it’s not highly effective to fight snow, they’re capable of taking wet or dry roads. Michelin Primacy Now we’re taking a glance at Michelin Primacy, another excellent tire by Michelin. Compared to Premier, this is still a fantastic set. It’s highly dependable for your vehicle and having the best friction than others. You can still gain the best performance and control possible, along with its exciting details. No matter what surface you’re on, Michelin Primacy will take you through it. It works miraculously by absorbing shocks and shakers, further give you a smoother driving experience. Talking about performance delivery, Michelin Primacy can even surpass Premier. It’s often regarded as the best quality tires in the entire marketplace, at the same price level. But, all these are traded with less good tread life and longevity. While Premier seems to balance all of them, Primacy does give some of the ups and downs. The tearing rate is considerably worse, so you need to replace these tires more often. Of course, the price is also not considered to be affordable. While you have the budget, Michele Primacy can work in the way you desire. As mentione above, Micheli Primacy does give you the control and performance, those most lovable factors. But, the friction part is not as good as others, even Premier. You can still find other convenient features, though. It takes off the pressure and makes it easier for the engine to run. This will result in better performance to bring out the best of your car. Increased acceleration, which makes the engine works less complicated, can make its life better than usual. Of course, it still has durability, but it is not the best in the market. Tread life is not that terrible, but it’s nowhere near Premier either. But, if you take a direct comparison of Primacy and the other tires at the same price level, Primacy can give you more than just tires. The tires bring out the maximum comfort, so for those who want a smoother ride, Primacy is the one to go, though the users still need to replace them now and then. The fantastic riding performance is greatly enhanced than usual. What’s more interesting is that they perform quaitely. While you’re driving, the sounds produced from the tires will be significantly decreased. As for the value for money, Michelin Primacy works excellently. It can deliver premium quality and many features to consider in a not too expensive way. Michelin Premier vs Primacy Michelin PremierMichelin Primacy - Size 215/45R17- Size 225/65R17 102H - Section Width 215 Millimeters- Section Width 225 Millimeters - Rim Width 8 Inches- Rim Width 8 Inches - Load Capacity 1201 Pounds- Load Capacity; 1874 Pounds - Tread Depth 32nds- Tread Depth 32nds Conclusion Now, it’s time to consider which one of these two tires is the best. We’ve looked into Michelin Premier and Primacy and took some notes around what’s best about these two. From the findings above, we can consider that both are great tires. They have value for money but come with different characters, and you need to consider which one can suit you the best. Michelin Premier is most balanced of all. It’s durable, able to deliver the best performance, and notably better tread life for longer use. Compared to the tread life in Primacy, it is way more significant. If you’re not that bothered about tread life, Primacy can give you a much better riding experience. It feels smoother and more convenient than Premier.
BridgestoneDueler H/L Alenza vs Michelin MXV4 S8 (235/55/18) Both For 2005 RX 330 There's no question that the Bridgestone Alenza is head-and-shoulders better in an SUV or truck application compared to the Michelin MXV4 S8. The Alenza has 25% more tread depth when new, much better wet grip, a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, and it's less
Most of the time, the expensive price tag is the dealbreaker when we compare Michelin and Bridgestone tires. That said, there are certain performance nuances that would make you choose one tire over the other. Hence, we compared the features of Michelin Defender vs Bridgestone Dueler to help you pick the right option. It turned out that Michelin’s Defender line is more versatile. It serves a wider array of vehicles with a long-lasting life and friendlier cost, while Bridgestone’s Dueler has more tire choices for SUVs, light and medium trucks. It stands out in off-roading and handling light snow. Table of ContentsWhat Are They?1. Bridgestone H/L Tires H/L means highway/luxury2. MichelinDifferences Bridgestone Dueler vs Michelin Defender1. In general, Bridgestone Dueler tires meet the demands of 4WD vehicles for year-round high level traction, excellent driving performance, and comfort in any terrain. The Dueler products are grouped as follows 1. Bridgestone H/L Tires H/L means highway/luxury These tires are designed for big-city highways and suburban driving. Popular tire types include the H/L Alenza, H/L Alenza Plus, and H/L 400. Available tire sizes range from 16-22 inches, and their warranty can go as high as 80,00o miles. Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus is 10% more fuel efficient than the H/L Alenza because of its reduced rolling resistance. The H/L 400 got good reviews in wet conditions and aquaplaning resistance and as an OE fitment for Subaru. However, it suffered poor feedback in other aspects such as treadwear. Here’s a rundown of their characteristics. Does okay on dry surfaces but disappoints in off-road and wet performance. Bridgestone H/P Sport These high performance tires are made for sport trucks or SUVs. It has two versions H/P Sport and H/P A/S. The former is meant for summer while the latter is designed for all-season driving. Here’s a quick reference for the two H/P Dueler tires. Bridgestone A/T and H/T tires Bridgestone A/T tires are meant for all-terrain driving. As for Bridgestone Dueler H/T series, the Bridgestone Dueler H T 685 and HT 684 II were engineered for highway use. These tires offer a warranty of 50,000-60,000 miles. Notable A/T Dueler tires are the Dueler A/T Revo 3 and A/T RH-S. Check out the key features of some of these truck tires. Characteristics Well-rounded tire. Winter performance is good but pales in comparison to its wet and dry handling. Exceptional handling, but perhaps not the best choice for wet surfaces. Well-rounded tire, has a slight edge over the T+H in performance. A Related Comparison Michelin Defender vs LTX M/S 2 Differences Bridgestone Dueler vs Michelin Defender 1. UTQG Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature Michelin Defender tires displayed a superior UTQG rating. They are more grippy, durable and better at dissipating heat. As an illustration, the Michelin’s Defender T+H is long-lasting with a treadwear rating of 820 compared to the H/L Alenza Plus’s 800. Both of these scores are the two lines’ highest. As for temperature and traction, the T+H has ratings of B and A, while the Alenza Plus achieved A for both. Below are the UTQG scores for other models. Note that we’ve listed the highest ratings only. HL Alenza – 700 B A and 600 A A HL 400 – 600 B A H/P Sport – 300 A A H/P Sport AS – 500 A AA A/T – 520 B AA and 540 B A H/T – 520 B B and 500 B AA Defender LTX – 800 A A Defender2 – 840 B B for now, not all sizes of this model have received a rating yet As you can see, Michelin generally outperforms Bridgestone when it comes to treadwear. Even if Michelin’s Defender line was compared to the Bridgestone Turanza, the French tire still comes out on top. As for temperature resistance and traction, it depends on which models you’re comparing, since both tire companies have scores of A and B for these criteria. 2. Warranty Michelin Defender tires offer support for 70,000-80,000 miles, while Bridgestone Dueler tires promise 40,000-80,000 miles. However, one tire from the Bridgestone lineup does not offer any warranty. It is the H/P Sport. 3. 3PMSF Michelin Defender tires do not carry the 3PMSF symbol Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake. Despite that, the Michelin LTX M/S has been proven to be capable of handling light snow. Similarly, not all Dueler tires have the Alpine or snowflake symbol, but some of them have extra features that aid snow traction. For instance, the AT Revo 3 is touted as the best all-terrain tire for snow because of its good grip, handling, and braking. The Dueler AT001 is marked with M+S and 3PMSF symbols. This all-terrain and all-season tire is praised for its dry braking in freezing temperatures, plus great traction and handling in mild winter situations. 4. Cost In general, Michelin is more affordable than Bridgestone when it comes to all-season SUV and truck tires. For instance, the price of a Michelin Defender T+H tire starts at $ compared to the lowest price of an H/L Alenza Plus tire, which is $ That is almost $91 in savings. The Bridgestone Dueler LTH and Bridgestone Dueler LX are all-season tires for SUVs and 4x4s that are sold on Discount tire. Both models are $6-45 more expensive than the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. Bridgestone and Michelin are neck and neck in offering the best tires in every existing category, but Michelin captures the overall driving experience better in most tire comparisons. For instance, Michelin has more reactive and smoother handling on dry roads, while Bridgestone has more winter tire options that have excellent snow and ice traction, which was later on rivaled by Michelin’s X Ice Snow. Are Bridgestone and Michelin the same company? No, they are different entities. Bridgestone is a 91-year-old Japanese company that manufactures auto and truck parts, while Michelin is a 133-year-old French manufacturer that produces tires for space shuttles, aircraft, passenger vehicles, and more. Conclusion Whichever you choose between the Michelin Defender vs Bridgestone Dueler, rest assured that you’ll get the best value for your money. Bridgestone Dueler tires excel in snowy conditions and are competitive in wet and dry roads. However, the Michelin Defender tires are more flexible, durable and practical all-season choices for family cars, crossovers, SUVs and minivans.
